The first largest group of Amish arrived in America around 1730 and settled near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, and reluctant to adopt any modern technology.  The Pennsylvania Amish are not the biggest group of United States Amish as is commonly thought.  The Amish have settled in as many as twenty-four states, Central America, and Canada. Although many have settled in various locations, about 80% of the Mennonite and Amish are located in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.  The greatest concentration of Amish is in Holmes and adjoining counties in northeast Ohio.  Next in size is a group of Amish people in Elkhart and surrounding counties in northeastern Indiana.  Then comes the Amish and Mennonite settlement in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The Amish population exceeds more than 150,000 and growing.  The Amish have large families averaging 5 - 7 children. As the children age the family traditions follow.  One tradition is making handmade quilts. The amish that make our hand made quilts are one of the oldest Christian Anabaptist communities in the United states.

The quilts are made by Mennonite and Amish woman from berks county, and the surrounding area of Pennsylvania.  Our Amish district is are not over whelmed with tourism.  All quilting is made in our homes with no distractions, this allows us more quality time to work on our quilts and wall hangings. Each quilt takes 600 to 800 hundred hours to complete.  Fabrics are 100% cotton or cotton/poly blends.

Our high-quality bed quilts give you either a distinctive warm elegant settings or bold vibrant colors. We carry several different patterns of quilts.  Our most popular bed quilts are as follows; log cabin quilts, bargello quilt, star quilt, wedding ring quilt, double wedding ring quilt, pinwheel quilts, and star quilt.  The most common size in stock quilts are the handmade king quilt and the handmade queen quilt. We do have some twin size quilts but most must be handmade when ordered.

Our high-quality wall hanging quilts make a beautiful piece of art on your wall. The handmade wall hangings can have a picture to represent something, or could be a colorful pattern of squares, stars or circles. Some quilts have random beautiful patchwork with different vibrant colors.
